Questions to ask when meeting with a potential photographer

Finding the right photographer for you can be very difficult, ecspically since there are so many out there. Although there are many photographers and companies, not everyone has everything that you may be looking for or might specialize in something you want. When meeting with prospective photographers, it’s good to have quality questions so you can determine faster if they are someone of your interest or if you should continue looking for someone else. Here we’ve listed a few questions to ask prospective photographers to make finding the perfect match easier!

1. Describe your photography style

Every photographer has one, so it’s good to get an understanding of what their style of photography is and see if it’s something you would be interested in.

2. Do you have different photography packages?

It’s a good idea to know if the photographer has more than just one package. If so, see what package includes what. Make sure you fully know what comes with that certain package so that you are getting everything you want.

3. Do you have a back-up plan?

It’s always best to plan for the unexpected, ecspically on an important occasion like your wedding. Be sure to ask the photographer if they have a back up plan if they are unable to photograph your wedding at the last minute.

4. How many years of experience do you have?

Someone who has a lot of experience photographing weddings is great because they know what a lot of people like and have done in the past.

5. Do you have a portfolio of previous weddings?

What better way to get to know and understand a photographers work and style than seeing photos they’ve already done? It’s very important to see a portfolio so that you know what your photos could potentially look like if you chose that photographer.
