Planning A Wedding On A Budget
Planning a wedding can be very difficult at times especially when trying to stick to a budget. Many vendors and venues are not cheap, but often times there are ways to get around these tough prices all while keeping the wedding of your dreams! Here are a few of our tips to having a wedding on a budget!
Keep your guest list small
Now with the national pandemic this is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a smaller, more intimate wedding! Keep your guest list minimal by inviting friends, family and close relatives! You can also limit your bridal party to 8 or less. Give yourself permission to invite only those who you truly want to celebrate the day with, while also considering the limitations of your budget!
Buffett Style Dinner
Even in light of the pandemic, a Buffett style dinner is still possible and affordable! Consider having sanitary stations at the beginning of the Buffett line. If you are having servers, allow them to handle the Buffett and plating to avoid the guests touching any cutlery.
Flowers that are in season
When it comes to picking wedding flowers, a good way to cut down cost would be to choose flowers that are in season. This is because in season flowers are more easily sourced and don’t need to be flown in from the other side of the world.
Get married during a non wedding season
Wedding season varies year to year, but late summer and early fall tend to be the most popular wedding dates like June, September and October. During the off season, months like January, February, March and December, prices for vendors may go down because they are not as in high demand. Consider moving your wedding date to an off season month to possibly save some money in these areas!
Consider doing your own hair and makeup
If hair and makeup is one of your strong points, think about doing your own! This will cut down the cost when it comes to paying someone to do the whole bridal party! If you have a friend or family member who is skilled in the area, allow them to do it too!
Attend bridal shows
Bridal shows are a great way to see a lot of vendors at once, and to obtain a lot of information in one setting. Many vendors hand out great deals and discounts at these bridal shows that you might not have gotten elsewhere. Find a show near you and see what all they have to offer!
